The “Middle-Earth”
“I fell in love with this place immediately; I felt its soul because it already had one, loaded as it was with history. It was exactly what I was looking for.”
Since 1991, Al Garghet has been a magical and emotional place to savor Milanese traditional dishes in a unique atmosphere. Emanuela Cipolla, the owner, initially wanted to name it “Middle-Earth,” inspired by the land of gnomes and fairies from J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel. The place, indeed, had something magical about it. Here, nature, fairy tale, and imagination merged into an enchanted blend. At the same time, however, the name Al Garghet had already been ingrained in people’s memories for years, and it would have been wrong to erase it. That’s why the decision was made to keep it and complement it with “Middle-Earth.”

“To pass down means to transmit over time, from one generation to another, experiences, traditions, and values.
This is what I commit to doing every day with my six grandchildren. Because it is with the memory of what we have lived that we can envision a more promising future.”
